Light is concentrated into a beam by this Fresnel lens at the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Fresnel lenses were first used in lighthouses in the 1820s to transmit light over great distances. This can be likened unto the the words of Baha’u’llah, transmitting the light of God to humanity.
O SON OF BEING!
With the hands of power I made thee and with the fingers of strength I created thee; and within thee have I placed the essence of My light. Be thou content with it and seek naught else, for My work is perfect and My command is binding. Question it not, nor have a doubt thereof.
-Baha’u’llah
Through the power of the words He hath uttered the whole of the human race can be illumined with the light of unity, and the remembrance of His Name is able to set on fire the hearts of all men, and burn away the veils that intervene between them and His glory.
-Baha’u’llah
